My gym bag is from Lululemon. It’s spacious and has numerous pockets on the inside which allows me to keep my things organized every time I go to the gym
Sometimes just throwing your hair into a ponytail just isn’t enough. I like to use grip headbands from Under Armor. They keep any small pieces of hair out of my face so I can concentrate on what I’m doing rather than what my hair is doing.
The most important thing to remember during any workout is to continuously drink water! It’s been proven that if you are thirsty during you’re workout, you are already dehydrated. I like to use the glass water bottle also from Lululemon. They’re made out of glass rather than plastic, making them BPA-free, they’re bigger than a standard plastic water bottle so it doesn’t need to be refilled as frequent, and it’s reusable making it eco-friendly which is an added bonus for the environment.
I like to use an armband so I can keep my phone with me and listen to music during my workout. Plus, if it’s on my arm it’s one less thing to carry and/or possibly forget in the gym after my training is over.
Lifting heavy weights for long periods of time can leave your hands sore. It’s a good idea to head out to a sports store and pick up a pair of weightlifting gloves. They act as a buffer between your skin and the rough metal from the bars and plates. You might find that you’re even able to lift more because you are feeling less pressure on your hands and can focus more on the weight you are lifting.
When doing any intense workout, you need the proper fuel. Carb-Pro is my favourite and is sold at most cycling shops, but can be used for more than just biking. It can be mixed with water or any other liquid during your routine. Carp-Pro works as instant energy when exhaust begins to kick in. It’s quick and effective and most importantly actually tastes better than other sports drinks I have tried. It work as a recovery drink after your training, which will aid to muscle repair and stronger muscles overall.
For a more effective workout, proper shoes are crucial. If your feet are not getting the proper support they need for the intensity you are putting them through, you won’t get the most out of your training. My favourite shoes to train in are by Saucony. Great support and lots of variety to choose from!
